Artist gig poster project (Outkast)

(Outkast gig poster) I ultimately used a mixture of a few different sketches from below to compose the final layout of this gig poster. I incorporated some album artwork, a picture of the duo themselves, and and Atl brave baseball card that was influenced by Outkast album artwork being that the venue I chose to use is right outside of the Atl Braves baseball stadium.
(Gig poster sketches) This page was of sketches was the heavy favorites in the running for the final poster. These images incorporate different album art work for the duo.
(More sketches) This page of sketches is mostly based on music itself. I tried to incorporate music notes, different instruments, and studio equipment that is normally used to make music.
(And more) This page has  4 sketches that show both Atlanta and Outkast history. Outkast is a group that is noted to be big on Atlanta sports so I incorporated a bit of both on this page of sketches.
(And more) This page has 4 sketches that did not make the cut of any part of the design process for the final poster.
(And even more lol) This page has 4 different sketch ideas for my final poster. None of these were chosen, but number 17 on this page was strongly considered.
This is a mind map of my brainstorming process to come up with ideas for my sketches and ultimately my final poster for the assignment.
I listed off a number of different things to describe Outkast such as Atlanta music culture, Outkast songs, basic information about the group, etc.
This Outkast gig poster was a project from design class where I was tasked to use everyday items and typography to create a poster to promote an upcoming gig for an artist. I chose Outkast because I am from Atlanta and they are Atlanta hip hop legends. I first made a mind map to figure out what information and images I wanted to be incorporated in the poster. I then did a number of different sketches to help me think of the artwork I wanted to use. I then used random items and placed them on a poster board and took a photo of the poster. These items helped to tell my story on the poster. I imported that image to Adobe Photoshop and added a few final touches to the poster along with the text. Also attached are the different sketches that I created to help find out what I wanted to do with the poster.
